My Journey by Riddhi Roy

Riddhi Roy
I Riddhi Roy am an Electrical Engineer with Executive MBA from a reputed university in Thailand. Worked with a renowned capital equipment manufacturer for over 9 years, been responsible and travelled to 15 Asia Pacific nations. When I decided to take the entrepreneurial plunge,
I have failed 15 times and picked myself 16 times up (lost count!). I have seen how women entrepreneurs in tech sectors in Asia are growing and need immense self organization.
Currently I am based out of Dubai and trying to work on fixing this problem and get professionals personally branded.

Share about your business

I work as consultant to business professionals (employee, entrepreneurs or freelancers) who wish to invest on themselves for the sake of their business growth. The program is designed into structured modules and has scientific tools and processes. The comprehensive program Brand-In-Action has not only been appreciated by both Asian men and women but is picking up faster than my expectations. I can say, this was a business started officially in the pandemic times, and such attention only proves it has way to go. The best part of the consulting act is that it is not solely a social selling or soft skill training piecemeal elements, it has a proper system to measure and monitor own brand performance. I am amazed and improvising the program with every single client and trying to get it more real and result oriented. One of the very few personal branding programs to offer this, which has a future expansion plan drafted out integrating more interesting technological interventions.

What was the inspiration for you to start your own business?

I always dreamt of myself being admired and respected at my workplace. When I started my work life, I was into a very de-glam industry, all male type – electrical engineering and manufacturing special utility transformers. I was so surrounded by men and my life became so influenced by their work styles. I travelled to over 15-16 countries and often got to hear my close business friends underestimating women in serious industries and more so with the professional ways of Indian women. I knew somewhere they were right and shutting them up does not mean we had to start being just like them. All that was needed was being a confident and relevant personal brand which goes with the world. I have spent last 4-5 years of my life back in India quitting my international job, and the more I failed I realized that systems are unnecessarily made complex and women are grossly under rated in Indian business scenario. Overall professionalism has to prevail. That shaped the development of this program – Brand-In-Action under #brandingbyriddhi which had comprehensive, modular and custom made programs for people to get their own brands designed without being a showbiz celebrity. Works on structure, works on feedback and analytical systems.

What have been some of your achievements in your professional life?

There are too many unfortunately to fit into this space 🙂

The difference you have made to others

I have inspired them to pick themselves up and stand strong every time life lets you down. I believe in self and I don’t think there is anything called failure and end. Every end has a new beginning and every failure calls for a fresh start.

What do you want to be acknowledged for

A person who has helped organize self and present out the best to the world, not necessarily the perfect one.
Anything else you wish to share
Nothing can let you down, unless you decide to quit. And remember money is not what you need in most cases in life to win, If you win, money flows. And specially about women, be 100% feminine in the way you do business not necessarily a feminist.
