Dr. Sridevi Samineni
Born in a village, grew up in a town with middle class family values, studied in a missionary school that instilled the importance of care, forgiveness and values. Holds a Ph.D. in Management. Now at the juncture of achieving the highest degree (Post-doctoral national award) received from university grants commission (UGC). She was the only one to get this award from south India in the Commerce & Management stream for the year 2016. Truly passionate how business mixed with social motive can positively impact the world around us and bring difference in the lives of people. Published and presented papers in National & International forums on women and Economic enhancement.

Anthaprarena is a one-stop social platform started with an aim to motivate, support, and promote small businesses with a mission to build livelihoods for WOMEN by WOMEN with skill enhancement involving social change makers in the society. Equal participation is the key for development, every individual has an inner motivation for building their life. Empowering women through enterprise education is the mantra of Anthaprarena. With a vision to work towards building a social ecosystem for economic prosperity with a commitment to transform the lives of women to earn their living through innovative programs in partnership with the social ecosystem. Earlier, when working with Andhra Mahila Sabha, got deeply inspired by the doyen in social service, Dr. Durgabai Deshmukh and wanted to start a social platform.
When working with SHG women visited, a remote village in Telangana the expression of one woman where is the work in the group? I only see money talk……. this observation made her think about what to do and how to do…. Alone we can save, but together we can build businesses with this spirit started Anthaprarena with a mission to build livelihoods for women through small businesses.
Her involvement in social enterprises started with being one of the partners of ABY Farmers LLP (2018)  Now with a larger purpose of connecting back to the society, she herself started the journey of Anthaprarena – For WOMEN by WOMEN for enhancing economic strength through livelihoods (2019).

Share something from your Corporate Career

Efforts have made her a good administrator and a sought after and popular teacher. Invited speaker at institutes of repute and lectured to students of different age groups. Organized seminars on contemporary themes to create awareness among faculty and students. Published papers in journals both national and international. She also travelled to USA and Singapore, presented papers on women economic enhancement- A case study of India at International Conference in Business & Management (IACB, 2017 ICE & 2017 ICTE) organized by Clute Institute and at 4th Annual International Conference on Cognitive and Behavioral Psychology (CBP 2015) organized by Global Science & Technology Forum (GSTF) got highly appreciated.

What was the inspiration for you to start Anthaprarena?

As I studied in a missionary school, I always seen Mother Teresa as my second mother and her service made me to be simple and empathetic towards society. Later when joined in Andhra Mahila Sabha, who is popularly known as ‘Iron Lady’, Dr. Durgabai Deshmukh was my inspiration. Now, I get inspired by all super women who are not afraid to dream big and turned those dreams into reality and has become the role models for future generations and make India a super power with equal participation.

What have been some of your achievements in your professional life?

  • Received Post-doctoral national award from university grants commission (UGC). I was the only one to get this award from south India in the Commerce & Management stream for the year 2016.
  • Travelled to USA and Singapore, presented papers on women economic enhancement- got highly appreciated.
  • Published 24 articles in peer reviewed National and International Journals.
  • Appointed as youngest director at the age of 36 for the prestigious Andhra Mahila Sabha school of Informatics in the year 2013.

The difference you have made to others

Inspired students over 17 years as a teacher and now in the last five years many SHG women in the rural villages to start their small businesses and lead their life with dignity and respect.

Want to be acknowledged for the passion for research on women & Women empowerment for the consistent work. The social journey of working for women economic enhancement
