 My name is Bindoo Ranjan. I graduated from National Institute of Design in 1990

Presently working as head of National Institute Design, Delhi Centre, New Delhi

I have also been visiting faculty and jury member at various platforms and have undertaken various International and National Design Projects in Handloom & Handcraft sectors.

About 28 yrs of experience in sustainable development of Handicrafts, Handlooms & MSME sectors. Have travelled extensively to several villages and clusters of India for Design development with single stated vision.

Worked as advisor for ARUNIM an organization working with people with disabilities for sustained inclusive and economic development and as expert with Fair Trade Forum, India to contribute towards sustainable development through Fair Trade intervention

What have been some of your achievements in your professional life?

Awarded SEAL OF EXCELLENCE FOR HANDICRAFTS – 2007 SOUTH ASIA PROGRAMME by UNESCO, for my Textile Home collection on Handspun and Handwoven Khadi fabric printed and dyed in natural vegetable colours.

The difference you have made to others

To create opportunities for an inclusive and sustainable growth for the grass root artisans and MSME’s sectors by using strategic design as the development tool. Aim is to revive and sustain the traditional skills of Tribal, Rural, MSME and Special need clusters
